Welcome to my blog! I’m Kathryn. I’m interested in writing, healthy living, and fashion. Haute “fashionble, high class” and Angel because I’m a Meredith College alum and we are the Angels”….hence HauteAngel. As a former newspaper reporter and professional photographer, with a B.A. in English and a minor in Professional Communications , I have spent my post-collegiate years raising two gorgeous kids with my husband of 34 years. I’m entering the next phase of my life now that our first grandson has been born and I’m a GiGi!
First and foremost, I love being a girl, so God took pity on my pocketbook and gave me an athletic daughter who dresses up sometimes. I love buying people gifts and finding the right items for a really great price. Giving is my love language!
I love fashion, especially vintage clothing and jewelry. I enjoy helping people find great deals, putting great outfits together, going to thrift and consignment shops, perusing yard, estate and tag sales. So I am going to share all those tips, trends, the best online sites, coupons, deals, and I will also sprinkle in lots of fun life stories, advice, thoughts, vents, quips and some sassy Southern charm.

Thanks for the follow on my blog and please tell me you weren’t really married at 5 years old……….. But maybe that’s what you do in North Carolina (wherever that may be lol!).. Or of course it could be american ‘math’. We have maths, plural, so are more flexible 🙂 I am impressed at the loss of 55 lbs, that’s as near as damnit 4 stone in British money…. bet you feel a lot better and a lot healthier, You look great in the photos and nothing near the age I assume you must be!

Well, Ms. Kathy, I’m so glad you decided to follow my blog. It’s not so often I find someone with so much in common with my background. Although I was raised in an Air Force family, my parents were from Georgia and much of my elementary and high school days were in Florida. So where in the South are you living? And I’m glad you explained that it’s the Southern upbringing that always likes to dress well, wear a little lipstick and jewelry when going out of the house. All of this time, I was just thinking it was the example of my Mama. Looking forward to sharing in your adventures.

Thanks for following back. I did a low carb diet for a year, under the supervision of a doctor. I’ve gained some of it back. As soon as I started saying oh, one piece of cheesecake is ok….it’s a slippery slide

IIt is nice to find how you got into fashion.
The minute attention we pay for each thing leads us to evolve a plan of or own which if properly executed lands you in cheer.

I’ve gone by Kathy and by Kate, but I spell my full name “Kathryn” too. Nice to see it spelled “correctly” don’t you think? 🙂

I do think that and I work with an Attorney who spells it “Kathryn” and we always joke our name is spelled correctly, ha ha.

I’m sure many women think this is old-fashioned but it’s the small things like reapplying lipstick, powdering my nose…that make me feel put together and pretty. I love being a woman. We have so many more fashion options, makeup, it’s a fun gender!

Oh, I hear you! big time 🙂 always a lipstick and a bit of concealer in my bag, and mascara under any circumstances. Not much, just enough to make me feel pretty. Then it is a virtous circle: you feel good, you “shine” good and people around you feel good, no? 😉 it all starts with little things..
